My practice is driven by my interest in how value is assigned to objects, particularly those that are discarded or seen as unimportant. I explore themes of nostalgia and mass-consumerism by focusing on items that have been used, collected, and eventually thrown away. I am interested in what happens to these objects after they lose their function, and why we keep certain things while others are forgotten.

My current work is centred around collecting and reinterpreting everyday waste materials and overlooked items. I transform these objects through painting and crochet, exaggerating their forms and changing their appearance to shift how they are perceived. By isolating and distorting these objects, I aim to remove them from their original context and present them as something more intentional and visually significant.

The combination of painting and crochet is central to my process. Painting allows me to manipulate the scale, colour, and surface, while crochet introduces a slow, repetitive, and handmade element that contrasts with the speed and disposable nature of mass-produced goods. This contrast reflects my interest in consumer culture and the tension between care and waste. Influenced by my own habits of collecting, my work aims to encourage viewers to reconsider the aesthetic and potential of what we usually ignore.
